Notre Dame Cathedral (summer 2011)

Detail of the large rose window which is an amazing 14 yards in diameter.  Surprisingly, the close up shot turned out better than the ones with the whole window.  One of the first things I noticed when we entered the cathedral was how dark it was inside so maybe that was part of it - a lot of my pictures didn't turn out that great.  The cathedrals in England are much brighter.

One of the "portals" into the cathedral (this one is the Portal of the Last Judgment).  I love the iron work on the doors!
