This week's pictures are from Chepstow Castle in Wales (from 2009)


The Great Tower was built in the late 11th century and is the oldest building of the castle



If I remember correctly, this is the view looking out from the general area shown in the first picture.  The countryside around the castle (as in most of Wales) was very scenic.



Interior of the lower bailey.  Most of what remains here (domestic buildings including a great hall, kitchen and the earl's chambers) were added by Roger Bigod in the late 13th century.
